Parkside Day Nursery

We have now finished restoring our stunning Victorian three story Nursery on Hessle High Road to provide a beautiful home from home environment in which we will deliver the highest quality care and early years education. Bringing the property back to life we are aiming for our nursery environment to “hug” our children & to provide a safe, loving, caring environment where children can begin a lifelong love of learning.

The Location

We are located on Hessle Road, not far from Pickering Park perfect for walks, seeing the birds in the aviaries & visiting the oriental gardens.

Ideal for families living and working in the area.

There are excellent transport links to Hull city centre & beyond.

Our Environment

Our Nursery is a beautiful Victorian property sympathetically restored to provide 39 childcare places for children from birth to five years old. 

The Nursery has a full floor dedicated to Under 2’s decorated with a rustic woodland theme, with nature as a base for our toys & resources.  With a large space dedicated to play, there is also a cosy rest room & changing area.

The Preschool Room is based over 2 linked rooms with direct access to our large & secure outdoor area and the toilets.  The original features of the rooms have inspired the design for the well organised play spaces for our creative & curious learners.

Our garden is located to the rear of the property and not overlooked.  The space is ideal for physical play. Designed to meet the needs of all our age groups, we are developing the garden to support the Forest School approach, ensuring our children are gaining the very most from outdoor learning all year round no matter the weather.

Our Community

Parkside Day Nursery is more than a childcare service we are a “Family”. We foster a sense of belonging for all our children and their families.  Children knowing where theyn belong forms part of their identity. Children belong first to their family, a neighbourhood and a wider community. 

At Parkside everyone plays an important part in developing positive relationships.

Your childs time at Parkside will be recorded through our “Memory Sheets” which will be created by staff and given to parents to create their own Memory Journal for an everlasting reminder of their connection with our “Nursery Family”

Staff Teams

Our highly qualified, experienced and dedicated team members are key to the success of Parkside. Staff are recruited & inducted through procedures that have been commended by Ofsted. Our in-house training programmes support staff with their continuous professional development. Staff are paediatric first aid trained and also access further training to support their individual roles within the nursery.

Individual Learning Programmes

Each child is allocated a Key Person who has a special responsibility for your child including building relationships with their family too.

We have developed learning programmes that support a child’s individual interests. Planning for each child stage of development is done via careful observation, reflection & responding to a child’s needs “in the moment”.  We support parents to be involved in the nursery through planned events and home to nursery involvement such as Lending Libraries, Stay & Play sessions and Home Learning.

Meals & Snacks

All Meals are home cooked on site allowing us to provide for all dietary requirements. The snacks we provide for children are healthy & free from artificial colourings and we use as much fresh produce as possible.

We have over 20 years’ experience in delivering quality childcare in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We draw on this experience to continually develop and improve the care and education we provide.
